ABOUT US

Founded in 2015 and located in the University of Arizona Tech Park in Tucson, Arizona, with an office in the Potential Energy DC incubator in McLean, VA, Lightsense is capitalizing on pathbreaking innovations in infrared technology pioneered by Lightsense principals working with partner companies and research institutes, including the College of Optical Sciences of the University of Arizona, one of the world’s premiere optical research institutions. Lightsense brings together the highest level of expertise in microsystems technology, optical design, and sensor design.

Lightsense is headquartered at the University of Arizona Tech Park in Tucson, Arizona.

Lightsense is headquartered at the University of Arizona Tech Park in Tucson, Arizona.

The innovative Lightsense technology promises to make a significant impact on the Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and sensor industries. By capitalizing on a blend of novel and proprietary materials, sensor concepts and design expertise, Lightsense is pioneering the development of a new class of infrared MEMS products and their applications in “smart" sensors.

The Lightsense technology represents a radical improvement in performance for infrared sensing devices, and addresses the needs of multiple markets. Lightsense works with third parties to develop industry-specific applications. This includes miniaturized infrared spectrometers for non-invasive medical diagnostics and point of care health monitoring, sensors for energy savings in smart buildings, and multi-sensors for indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring in smart cities.
