Efficient control and regulation of process parameters in industrial processes is a fundamental requirement in manufacturing. Lightsense partners in the US and Germany are focusing on the use of miniaturized spectrometers for real-time inline measurements. Liquid, pasty and solid substances can be continuously monitored directly in the process with Lightsense spectrometers. This eliminates expensive laboratory analyses and waiting time for laboratory results. The process can then be controlled with direct real-time feedback about conditions or changes in the properties of input raw materials providing tighter process tolerances.

Oil Condition Analysis

Lightsense spectrometers can be used to measure the condition of oils and lubricants to provide real-time measurements that allow optimized oil changes and better monitoring of the state of health of the engine. This allows preventive maintenance and significant savings in avoiding downtime due to failure. Currently, oil samples are collected and sent to central laboratories for analysis resulting in delayed information.
