Mike is well known in the semiconductor field where he spent almost 4 decades on topics ranging from circuit design to microcontroller architecture to algorithm development and machine learning. He brings that ML experience to Lightsense where he is applying those techniques to pathogen detection using spectral data as input to his ML engines. Mike has 8 patents and is the co-author of Sensor Analysis for the Internet of Things. Mike received his B.S.E. from Michigan State University in 1980 and his M.S. from Arizona State University in 1986.
